Here is something to get your mind working. There are many possible answers to this lateral thinking puzzle, but only one is the correct answer. So here goes.
A woman watched her husband plunge head first down a deep ravine. She returned home to find him in the kitchen, chopping onions. How is this possible?

numerous answers to that one, and since the riddle itself is vague the resultant answers will be simliar. So you can have a list:
Stuntman is a good answer from bobbik
Bungee Jumping
Free Falling (jumpiong off things wearing a parachute)
Diving (may have been a lake at the bottom)
One final note unless you can disprove an answer it is not wrong

After watching Meatspin for several hours he was inspired to make the ultimate sex move. So using gravity as his aid he went for the ULTIMATE piledriver he landed in her mouth and died and then re-married the end MEATSPIN FTW!!!!!!!

I believe the answer to your riddle to be that the husband is a stuntman, and his wife has been watching him do his days work.

Here is a riddle for you
A man lives on the twelfth floor of an apartment building. Every morning he takes the elevator down to the lobby and leaves the building. In the evening, he gets into the elevator, and, if there is someone else in the elevator — or if it was raining that day — he goes back to his floor directly. Otherwise, he goes to the tenth floor and walks up two flights of stairs to his apartment.
