Chopsticks
By DivineOmega | May 28, 2006
I don’t usually do many personal posts, about my life etc. This being 0.5 blog and 0.5 website, I probably should. Therefore, I’m not going to and instead I will talk about chopsticks.
I just had a bizarre meal which consisted of chopsticks, a stir-fry and some Blossom Hill wine. For the somewhat slow amongst you, I did not actually eat the chopsticks regardless of how appetizing they looked. Anyway - why eat stir-fry with chopsticks you may ask? To inconvenience myself briefly? Yes, that’s exactly why. In many respects they are very useful for eating stir-fries. However, you reach difficulties when it comes to foods like peas. It becomes something of a stabbing job.
This stabbing of peas using chopsticks is commonly known as ‘The Art Of Pea Stabbing’. This ancient technique is described most adequately in the image below. Amongst the knowledgeable ones, this is somewhat of a tradition.

Many professionals in the field challenge this method as not being scientifically sound, however an independent study by both Oxford and Cambridge university state that 78% and 69% respectively of all peas stabbed in this manner are successfully consumed.
